The pharmaceutical company Roche is cutting jobs. In total, the reduction measures are expected to affect “less than 340” people in the pharmaceutical product development area. The reduction will also affect employees in Switzerland.
The total number of permanent employees from pharmaceutical product development who could be affected by these measures will amount to less than six percent of the entire area, a company spokesman said on Thursday evening when asked by AWP. The clinical development of medications is summarized in this container.
The financial news portal “muula.ch” and the “Basler Zeitung” were the first to report on the austerity measures.

The group cannot communicate concrete figures for the reduction. The reason for this is the ongoing local consultation processes with local employee representatives as well as the legal reviews of the plans that are still required, it is said. Roche’s goal is to mitigate the impact of the measures on employees.
Jobs in Switzerland are also at risk
The reduction will also affect employees in Switzerland. The consultation process was recently initiated in this country, which is why no figures can yet be given on the Swiss employees affected by the conversion, the Roche spokesman continued.
Across the entire group, Roche is assuming that the workforce will remain stable in the current year.
Roche employs around 103,600 people worldwide, with almost 1,500 positions currently open across the group. 14,960 employees work for Roche in Switzerland.
