Russia’s power supply to China increases | Morning Post

In the context of China’s tight power supply, Russia has increased its power supply to China.

According to China CCTV News, the China-Russia 500kV converter station in Heihe, Heilongjiang has increased its power supply from today (October 1), and its full-load operation time has increased from five hours a day to 16 hours. According to reports, this can greatly ease the local power supply shortage.

Russian power is supplied to the three provinces of Northeast China, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning through the 500kV Heihe converter station.

Russian Satellite News Agency reported last Wednesday (29th) that Russian electric power company InterRAO said that at the request of China, the company is studying the possibility of substantially increasing power exports to China.

The company said: “Because of the lack of power supply in its northern provinces, the Chinese side requested InterRAO to expand its supply to China. We are currently completing discussions on the technical feasibility of substantially increasing the supply. The supply will be determined by the hour based on demand.”
