Sardegna Resort will pay the bonus to employees

by admin

For the employees of the hotels of the Costa Smeralda the 2020 production bonus is coming. Despite the drop in turnover in the last tourist season, due to the health emergency, Sardegna Resorts, which is owned by Qatar Holding and managed by Marriott of the Cala di Volpe, Cervo, Romazzino and Pitrizza hotels on the Costa Smeralda, decided to pay the incentive by rewarding “the professionalism of the staff” present in the past season.

The agreement

The second level agreement was signed a few days ago. Although the premises were certainly not positive and all the parameters had not been met, a decrease in turnover of 66 percent compared to 2019 (when revenues of 88.4 million euros were recorded), and a decrease in EBITDA of 79.4 percent, negative labor cost-turnover ratio of 10.6 percent and room occupancy -Fte decrease of 38.7 percent, the company has decided to pay the premium that will be paid in the next paycheck and will vary between 200 and 230 euros.

The prize

The positive parameters linked to the quality of the service (Gei) and the professionalism of the service (Starvoice / Performance Apprais, equal to 99%) trigger the mechanism that gives the green light to the incentive. The first is the employee satisfaction index prepared by third parties and covered by the anonymity of the participants (Starvoice), the second is the process of assessing the professional development needs of employees certified by the Performance Appraisal methodology.

The satisfaction of the trade unions

«We are very satisfied with Sardegna Resorts’ decision to reward the work factor and, in particular, with its corporate vision oriented towards the centrality of the person – comment Danilo Deiana and Eleonora Careddu, respectively secretaries of Filcams Cgil and Fisascat Cisl -. We are also aware, however, that we can always improve from every point of view and for this we will work. Sardegna Resorts invests in its staff who, let us remember, 84 per cent are Sardinian, even if in 2020 the employment was equal to 22% of that of the years preceding Covid-19 ».

2021 season and vaccines

The focus now is on the upcoming tourist season and vaccination plans. “According to the first reports of Sardegna Resorts, for 5-star and luxury hotels such as those of the Costa Smeralda, a better 2021 season than the past one is envisaged – concludes Danilo Deiana – but it is all conditioned by the positive trend of the vaccination plan and by the possibility , opened by the national protocol, to implement business plans aimed at activating extraordinary anti-Covid vaccination points in the workplace. Vaccines may be administered, on an exclusively voluntary basis, in the company by adequately trained health professionals and performed in suitable premises. Alternatively, employers can use private health facilities or Inail. This, of course, in full compliance with the National Vaccination Plan, which provides for the vaccine first for the weakest of the population ».
