Six centuries of history at the Castle of Castellengo told by Teatrando

The stories that will come to life at the Castle of Castellengo (Cossato) in the traveling show “Castellengo – Story of a magical meeting”, staged on Saturday and Sunday in an event organized by Teatrando, cover the time span from the early fifteenth century to our contemporaneity. and by the association Intorno al Castello.

The public, divided into groups, will start from the Porta del Moro (parking lot at the Osteria della Villa) and will proceed along a path in “eight steps” (like the fundamental ones of the tango) making a journey through time, even if not in chronological order. Leading each group will be a guide, who will provide the information necessary to immerse themselves, from time to time, in the era and atmosphere of the scenes.

The historical texts, written by Danilo Craveia and Anna Bosazza, tell with an ironic and current edge, various facts and characters linked to Castellengo and its Castle. There is talk of a siege dating back to 1,400, but also of disputes, fights and murders that underlie the rivalry between Castellengo and Cossato, also touching on issues related to the economy of the territory, linked to the cultivation of rice and vineyards. We also remember Count Federico Frichignono, famous for his stinginess, the doctor and professor Alessandro Sella who died in Castellengo and the writer Eufemia von Adlersfeld-Ballestrem, who in her only novel translated into Italian is signed “Eufemia Ballestrem di Castellengo”. A scene inspired by wine and tango also tells of the “magical meeting” between the current owners of the Castle.
