Sony recently released a surprising news, revealing that they are about to launch a new device in the Sony Xperia lineup.

They only recently launched the Sony Xperia 1 III, and they also remain mysterious about the devices that will be released next. However, as they released the Sony Xperia Pro-I on Tuesday (26th), we have a better understanding of this phone.

As the name of this phone implies, it is the next generation of Sony’s Xperia Pro launched in January this year. The highlight of Xperia Pro-I is its 12MP (f/2.0-4.0) main camera lens, equipped with a huge 1-inch image sensor, which is almost directly taken from the popular compact camera RX100 VII.

To illustrate how much larger it is than the sensors commonly found on today’s smartphones, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra has only a 1/1.33-inch sensor, which is about 40% smaller than a 1-inch sensor.

Because Xperia Pro-I has a huge sensor, you can use it to take 12MP photos. Its pixel pitch is 2.4μm, which is about 20% larger than the pixel pitch of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The only smartphone that allows you to have a better pixel pitch is the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, which offers 2.8 µm layered pixels, uses a Zeiss Tessar 24mm lens, and is also equipped with a variable aperture.

Xperia Pro-I is also equipped with Bionz X image signal processor and front-end LSI, which can obtain noise-free photos even in low-light environments.

With such a powerful main camera, it is no wonder that Sony has added some features, such as phase detection auto focus, and auto focus and auto exposure to achieve continuous shooting capabilities of up to 20fps;

You can also use the Photography Pro application to take photos in RAW format; there are other features such as real-time eye tracking autofocus, 3D iToF sensor and optical image stabilization.

If you like to shoot video, Xperia Pro-I will be able to shoot 4K HDR video at up to 120fps. It also has Sony’s SteadyShot and FlawlessEye technologies, slow motion video shooting and smart wind filters.

You can switch between the Videography Pro and Cinematography Pro applications to better meet the needs of the type of video you want to shoot.

Although there are stereo microphones on Xperia Pro-I, Sony has added a built-in monaural microphone next to the main camera lens for better recording.

However, we also need to know about other camera lenses. Above the 12MP main camera is a 12MP f/2.2 16mm ultra-wide-angle lens, and below the main camera is a 12MP f/2.4 50mm telephoto lens; front 8MP f/2.0 The wide-angle lens can be used for self-portrait.

However, if you happen to find that the front lens does not meet your standards, you can use the Vlog Monitor accessory.

This is a 3.5-inch high-definition monitor. When you like to shoot yourself with that funny main camera, you can install the Vlog Monitor on the back of the Xperia Pro-I. Vlog Monitor will also be equipped with a selfie stick.
