Netflix, the producer of “Game of Squid”, has listed the series as “not suitable for children to watch” in many places.

The South Korean drama “Game of Squid” is very popular all over the world, but its violent elements have also attracted the attention of parents everywhere. Among them, at least three schools in New York State, the United States, have recently announced that they will ban students from wearing costumes similar to the characters in the Korean drama “Game of Squid”, believing that these costumes will promote violence.

American media CBS quoted New York’s Fayetteville-Manlius School District supervisor Craig Tice as saying that the school district announced the guidelines on Sunday (October 31) just before Halloween. This includes prohibiting students from wearing clothing that “can be regarded as weapons”, and clothing that is “too violent or frightening” is also forbidden.

Theis said that the students repeat part of the “Squid Game” scene during the break, and some principals warned that games that promote violence are “inappropriate.”

However, some parents were dissatisfied with the school district’s practice, describing it as “excessive”. In an interview with CBS, a parent pointed out that it was just a piece of clothing. Parents only need to prevent their children from watching the show.
