STM: together with Metalenz to transform optical sensing for consumer, automotive and industrial applications

STMicroelectronics and Metalenz today announced a co-development and licensing agreement that will see Stm develop manufacturing processes for Metalenz’s meta-optical technology for next-generation smartphones, consumer devices, healthcare and automotive applications.
Metalenz is a spin-out of Federico Capasso’s group of Harvard University, where the innovative technology was invented that should be ready for mass production by the end of this year.
