Stolen cars, Ford tracks them thanks to connected assistance

by admin

Ford has announced the introduction of Connected Theft Assistance for the recovery of stolen vehicles, fully integrated and designed to help prevent or reduce the consequences of theft. Managed through the FordPass app, Connected Assistance relies on the SecuriAlert feature which sends an alert to the owner’s smartphone using FordPass Connect when an attempted theft is detected. The app guides you through the police reporting process and provides 24-hour call support, including vehicle location. Initially available for the Mustang Mach-E Gt, the functionality will later be extended to other vehicles in the Ford range. Connected Theft Assistance is part of the Ford Secure subscription package, which will be provided free of charge for a trial period on compatible vehicles. The service, available from this year in the United Kingdom and Ireland, will be extended to other European countries in the course of 2022.
