Suzuki Gsx-S950, how is it made and how much does the new generation cost

Who said that at 18 you can’t experience the emotions that a motorcycle with a four-cylinder engine of almost a liter of displacement can give? Suzuki with the new Gsx-S950 offers A2 license holders, bound to the maximum power of 35 kW, the possibility of driving a “grown-up” motorcycle: the engine delivers 35 kW but the sound, the chassis and the driving (translated : emotions) are those of a 999 cc motorcycle; at the moment it is the model with the largest engine approved for the A2. And, once you have passed the A license, the 35 Kw version can be restored through software, with consequent updating of the vehicle registration document by the Motorization.

For more mature motorcyclists, the four-cylinder delivers 70 kW, that is 95 hp at 7800 rpm, 2700 less than the Gsx-S750 Euro 4 that the new model replaces; also interesting is the comparison with the maximum torque which in the 950 is 92 Nm at 6500 rpm against 76 at 8 thousand rpm in the “settemmezzo”, and with the weight: only 1 kg more (214 kg in running order) thanks to the aluminum of the double cradle frame and of the swingarm of the new arrival, which however boasts a larger tank (19 liters against 16). Aesthetically characterizing the front of the new arrival is the vertically developed headlight with two latest generation overlapping hexagonal housings developed by Koito: it is gritty and makes the front more slender.

On the sides of the two headlights we find a 43 mm upside-down Kyb fork that works together with the rear suspension with leverages with adjustable spring preload and hydraulic brake in extension. Also great is the braking system with four-piston monobloc Tokico front brake calipers combined with a pair of 310 mm floating discs, obviously with Abs. solo): the Scas anti-hopping system reduces braking reactions and improves control when downshifting, making the clutch lever actuation smoother; Suzuki Traction Control, which can be set on three levels and can be switched off; the electronic Ride-by-Wire accelerator; finally, the Suzuki Easy Start and Low Rpm Assist systems that help with starting. Everything is manageable through the instrumentation, consisting of an LCD display that shows all the necessary information, including the gear engaged and the remaining range. The Suzuki Gsx-S950 is already available from dealers, in blue or black, for around 10,500 euros. and will be made available to the Eicma public for testing in the outdoor area.
