According to a press release published on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation of China here, Tesla announced a recall of some domestic Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles produced between December 28, 2020 and January 15, 2022, with a recall of 12,003 electric vehicles, respectively. vehicles and 14,044 vehicles.

The press release also stated that the heat pump electronic expansion valve of some vehicles within the scope of this recall will move slightly when positioning. Because the software does not have a corrective function, it may cause the valve to partially open, the heat pump compressor to stop working, and the in-vehicle heating function to fail for a long time.

“In the above state, especially when the temperature outside the car is lower than minus 10 degrees, the operation of the windshield defrosting system cannot achieve the defrosting effect stipulated by the relevant national regulations, and the decline of the defrosting function will have a negative impact on the driver’s field of vision.. . There is a security risk,” the press release said.
