Zhitong Finance APP learned that three investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board will travel to Coral Gables, Florida next week to investigate a fatal accident, a Tesla (NASDAQ:)(TSLA.US) Model 3 Out of the road hit a tree.
US National Transportation Safety Board officials said that the investigation will focus on the operation of the car and the fire that burned the car after the accident. It is unclear whether part of the car’s autopilot system was activated when the accident occurred.
For Tesla, additional scrutiny is nothing new. In the past five years, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has sent investigators to investigate 25 Tesla accidents involving partially automated driving assistance systems.
Peter Knudson, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board, confirmed: “We have been paying close attention to Tesla’s new technology.”
Last Friday, after Wedbush Securities issued a positive forecast for the company’s delivery next year, Tesla closed up 0.33% to $759.49.
