Total deposits from the third issue of BTP Futura reached over 5.47 billion euros for a total of 132,296 contracts in the five days of placement with an average denomination of 41,400.22 euros. The Mef communicates it. The title with a maturity of 16 years is dedicated to the financing of measures to support the economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and the expenses related to the vaccination campaign.
The series of final nominal annual coupon rates, paid on a half-yearly basis, is set for the bond, which has enjoyment on 27 April 2021 and matures on 27 April 2037, respectively equal to 0.75% for the first four years, 1.20% for the next four years, 1.65% for the next four and 2% for the remaining four years of the bond’s life. The settlement of the transaction will take place on the same day as the title is enjoyed.
The amount issued coincides with the total value of the purchase contracts validly concluded at par on the MOT (the Electronic Market of Bonds and Government Securities of Borsa Italiana) through the two dealer banks Intesa Sanpaolo SpA and Unicredit SpA during the placement period, which began on April 19, 2021. The demand, the note reads, was very strong on the first day both in terms of turnover and number of contracts, then recording a physiological decline over the course of the subsequent trading days.
