The close ECB hurts Italy more. A black Friday for banks and spreads

MILANO – A black Friday for Italy on the financial markets, targeted by sales on both the equity and bond fronts. Piazza Affari lost 5.17% in a single session, the worst worldwide result, burning 39 billion in capitalization, dragged down by the collapse of bank stocks. While the spread between Italian and German ten-year bonds rose to 224 points, bringing the BTP yield to 3.75%.
