The agreement came after more than six months of negotiations and was signed by the trade unions (Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl, Uiltec-Uil), the Elettricità Futura, Utilitalia, Energia Libera associations and the representatives of the major electricity companies in the countries such as Enel, Sogin, Terna and Gse.

The increases

In a phase in which the collapse of purchasing power is at the center of attention, the economic part of this new contract, in one of the sectors certainly among the healthiest, certainly marks a turning point: the overall increase (Tec) in the three years in fact it will be 243 euros, the average increase on the minimums (Tem), £ which in no way will be subject to the negative deviations of inflation “, is 225 euros and will be distributed in 4 tranches: 60 euros on 1 October 2022; 65 euros on 1 July 2023; 65 euros on 1 July 2024; 35 euros on 1 October 2024.

Instead, 15 euros will be allocated to the productivity bonus paid for 14 months for 2 years. In addition, 3 euros will be paid by companies to increase contractual welfare.

The total amount for the contractual validity period – the unions report – will be 4,750 euros. In addition to this, all workers are granted a one-off fee of 450 euros to cover the contractual holiday which from 1 January 2022 arrives to 1 October. In addition, the on-call allowance also increases by 2 euros per day (14 euros per week).

The recovery of inflation

In addition to all this, the mechanism for verifying changes in inflation remains confirmed, and it is also expected that at the end of the three-year period the quotas relating to productivity can be included in the minimum.

Training and safety

The regulatory part of the new electrical contract is also very rich: in particular, the “Just Transition” is pursued through the introduction in the contract of the protocol for the enhancement of the Person in the company. The right to training for each worker increases for a total of 40 hours minimum. The tasks of the bilateral training body are strengthened, which will represent an adequate tool for safeguarding employment, retraining and relocation of personnel in the event of overt critical issues, orientation, training and the inclusion of the new skills necessary for the energy transition.

On the subject of safety, the reduction of workloads will be pursued. Physiological rests for nocturnal interventions will increase, additional leave days will be recognized and the hours bank will be improved.

More safeguards for young people

As regards the subject of young workers, the remuneration of apprentices is increased: + 6% in the first year; + 5% in the second year; + 6% in the third year. Furthermore, protection in the event of serious illness of the apprentice is improved.

Finally, the holidays: they will begin to increase by one day starting from the sixth year of seniority and no longer from the eighth.
