by admin

Vottignasco mourns Sergio Silvestro, former entrepreneur and then co-owner of a bar, town councilor of the town. He was 66 years old, he died of cancer last night (Thursday 13 January), in his home in via Savigliano. A year ago the discovery of the disease, faced with great courage and dignity, his conditions have worsened in recent weeks. Originally from Vottignasco, in 1977 Silvestro had opened, together with his partner Claudio Arduino, the Sac company specializing in the design and construction of agricultural machinery, an activity that employed dozens of people, maintained until 2002.

From that year, until 2015, together with his wife and two daughters he had managed the Bar Fantasy in via Roma, in the center of the town, a place very popular even with young people. A man very involved in voluntary work and associations of Vottignasco (in particular for the maintenance of the Sentiero del Maira, the Pro Loco and the Bocciofila), with a generous character, available to everyone, in May 2019 Sergio Silvestro was elected municipal councilor and appointed Councilor for Agriculture, Crafts and Economy by the mayor, Daniela Costamagna. A post that he had honored in the interest of the community, demonstrating great administrative skills. He leaves his wife Mariangela Tallone, daughters Mara and Luisa, brothers Giovanni and Mario, and affectionate nephew Jacopo. The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow (Saturday 15 January), at 3 pm, in the parish church of the Holy Family in Vottignasco where tonight, at 7 pm, the rosary will be said.
