The dialogue between the Government and the trade unions starts with safety in the workplace, with a series of measures to be implemented to prevent accidents: the strengthening of the training system for employees and entrepreneurs, with the revision and strengthening of the sanctioning regulations for violations. It is a first step – the next appointment will serve to build a Protocol on the implementation of the NRP – in the direction of that Pact with the productive forces that Prime Minister Mario Draghi and the president of Confindustria, Carlo Bonomi, have proposed to the assembly of industrialists.
“It was a very useful meeting to establish a working method” commented Prime Minister Draghi “there is an understanding on these issues”. Last night at Palazzo Chigi together with the head of the Government, the ministers of Labor, Andrea Orlando, and of the Public Administration, Renato Brunetta, the undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Roberto Garofoli, attended the summit with the general secretaries of CGIL, CISL and UIL , respectively Maurizio Landini, Luigi Sbarra and Pierpaolo Bombardieri. Looking ahead, the aim is to create a single central database. For trade unions it can be the first step in introducing a points license to reward virtuous companies in participating in tenders. Then there is the recruitment chapter, with the 2,100 inspectors who will strengthen the staff of the Inl, as well as technicians and engineers (for a total of 2,300 hires) .Minister Brunetta has given full availability to work to speed up the recruitment procedures of additional profiles to be placed in the staffing facilities of the Ministry of Labor, and in the coming days he will meet with Minister Orlando.
Then there is the commitment to strengthen the training and prevention system: the actions of the Government, in coordination with the Governors, will be at the center of one of the next meetings of the State Regions Conference. Of a “particularly useful, fruitful and concrete meeting”, Minister Orlando spoke, “some short and medium-term interventions were identified” on safety in the workplace, “the subject of the discussion is important but also the method”.
The opinions of the union leaders were positive. «The first important answers from the government have arrived – commented Landini -. A path has been defined with the commitment in the coming days to further convocations to enter into the merits of the other issues ». The next appointment should concern the definition of the Protocol with the social partners on the implementation of the NRP, anticipates Landini, “considering that the investments of the Plan have both a national and local impact”. the budget law will have to face, that is, the reform of social safety nets, pensions, tax reform, there is a preventive confrontation ».
