The Permare group makes its debut in the 70-meter yacht sector

The turnover of the Permare shipyard, which manufactures boats under the Amer Yachts brand and is now making its debut in the field of construction of 70-meter steel and aluminum hulls, is growing. Production alongside the traditional one of composite boats.

The Sanremo company expects a significant increase in revenues for the two-year period 2021-2022: it expects to reach 50 million euros, while between 2019-2020 the turnover stood at 31 million. A significant fact also concerns the fact that 60% of sales are for boats that will be used to charter them.

The business is doubled

«Permare – says Barbara Amerio, at the top of the company – is doubling itself because it has a clientele that has grown and matured, pushing us to move to the steel and aluminum segment due to the size of the projects. It is a symptom of the fact that the positive trend linked to construction is growing and that, both in Liguria and in Tuscany, we should focus more on spaces dedicated to recreational shipbuilding, facilitating an enlarged district to support the supply chain “.

The first 70 meters of steel

The construction of the first 70-meter steel, built for a customer of European nationality, began in March 2022 and the delivery of the unit is scheduled for summer 2026. The hull, explains a note, “was born from the creative flair of Antonio Luxardo, will have low consumption and very generous spaces with aesthetic characteristics that will make it innovative. The project was commissioned to the Ligurian firm Optima in La Spezia (of which Luxardo is chief designer, ndr), with which a fruitful collaboration has begun ».

The interiors are supervised by the Luxury Projects studio at the hands of Laura Pomponi, who is also collaborating with the Sanremo shipyard for another project. In addition to the new steel segment, the note continues, “the team dedicated to composite is strengthened, which has managed to scale up the type of construction of the Amer 120 (in the photo, ndr) and to extend it to the entire range produced “.
