ALEXANDRIA. After a year of forced stop, here comes the weekend of San Baudolino. With the autumn event that appeals to those who love typically Piedmontese flavors. Next to all the others.
In these 35 editions the presence has grown and expanded: not only more truffles, salamis, honey, typical cheeses from Alessandria, but also goodness from Liguria, Southern Italy, even from abroad. Because in the end the fair is meant to be a moment of sharing all the good there is. Without Borders. Of course: it is the territory that stands out more than the others.
Especially in the courtyard of the Chamber of Commerce (which organizes the event), where on Sunday 14 November there will be the awaited Mostra del Tartufo with exhibition (from 11), the awarding of the best specimens (at 12) and the novelty of the demonstration research with dogs by Derthona Truffle Academy.
In the afternoon there will be the event «Discover Vermouth», a historical, cultural and productive seminar on the most famous flavored wine in the world together with the expert Fulvio Piccinino. The stalls in the streets of the historic center will already be there on Saturday morning. At 10 am the door of the Acdb Museum – Alessandria City of bicycles in Palazzo Monferrato will open (free admission) and the
Marengo Museum in Spinetta, the Art Rooms and Palazzo Cuttica in the city. Via San Lorenzo will be the way of research (in collaboration with the hospital), in the Chamber of Commerce there will be the laboratory of the «Yellow as honey» factory organized by the Friends association and alumni of the Galilei scientific high school. «We return – said Gian Paolo Coscia, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Alessandria and Asti – with this important opportunity to promote the territory and all its agri-food excellence. It has been a tradition, for 35 years, to find them in the streets of the center and this year also in public gardens. There will be many exhibitors in the food and wine sector that attract an ever-growing public, loyal or otherwise attentive to quality. Fundamental to the realization of this initiative, in a still difficult year, was the synergy that was created between institutions, associations and operators from all sectors of the Alexandrian economy. I would like to thank all these precious travel companions: the Municipality of Alessandria, the trade, agriculture and craft trade associations and all those who worked with us to share and improve the formula of the exhibition, while still guaranteeing the safety of the audience of visitors “.
