The Trento Festival of Economics: “After the pandemic, between order and disorder”

by admin

It can only go down in history as the moment of division between a before and an after in the 21st century. Not a war, as for the most important other moments of caesura in the history of humanity. But the Covid-19, which since the beginning of 2020 has burst into everyone’s life, has precipitated humanity into a sort of world conflict, against a pandemic amplified by an interconnected world resulting from globalization and from which we will inevitably emerge different. Stronger or weaker will be to be seen. It will be the challenge of the future, played along a Red string which extends between the ability to rewrite social pacts and the failure of this decisive moment in managing the transition. Here, in this awareness that recalls the need to put on the table, study and understand everything that the Covid emergency has placed before us, the meaning of the title of the 17 edition of the Trento Festival of Economics: “After the pandemic, between order and disorder “.

A place of reference

From 2 to 5 June next, the Trentino capital will serve as a place of reference for the meeting and debate of national and international protagonists of the economy, institutions, business, academia, philosophy and journalism. All this within the event, now in its 17th edition and which from 2022 will take place under the aegis of the 24 Hours Group, entrusted with the organization by the Autonomous Province of Trento, in collaboration with Trentino Marketing.

The main theme of the Festival

With the identification of the main theme and the definition of the Scientific Committee chaired by the director of Sole 24 Ore Fabio Tamburini, as well as the Advisory Board, operationally starts the approach to an event which, as Federico Silvestri, managing director of 24 Ore Eventi explains, «represents a point of reference. From this point of view, our intention is to give continuity, with the aim of guaranteeing the highest scientific and academic level thanks to the presence of guests of prestige and international standing ». The 24 Ore Group intends to push from this edition “on issues related to the industrial economy and the real economy of the territories”, explains Tamburini. And Silvestri adds: «The days of the Festival will be enriched by an“ Fuori Festival ”, obviously in a coherent way and in harmony with the high level of the event, with the aim of widening the audience».

Coherence and continuity

Coherence and continuity will represent the basis on which innovations and improvements will be grafted. «The University of Trento – explains a note from the 24 Ore Group – will make its contribution through its participation in the Scientific Committee which will be responsible for indicating the guidelines of the scientific program of the Festival. The University of Trento will also offer a functional logistical contribution to the Festival, such as the provision of university spaces for the organization of events, and will contribute to initiatives aimed at the student community “. On the other hand, «the Municipality of Trento will share proposals and contents of the Festival in a logic of coherence with the cultural and tourist offer of the city. The Municipality will also contribute to the organizational support of the event, also making urban and institutional spaces available ».

The communication campaign

The approach path will also include an advertising campaign that will have as the protagonist the symbol par excellence of the event: the squirrel, on the traditional orange background. Furthermore, the 24 Ore Group, which publishes this newspaper, will be joined by Sky Tg24 as “Broadcaster media partner”. All this, as mentioned, in the frame of a review that will have as its pivotal point the reflection on the very strong social, economic and political effects following the pandemic.
