It all started with a letter-appeal. It was September 15 when, from these columns, the director Massimo Giannini launched the idea of hosting the Festival of Economics in Turin, which was an “orphan” of Trento. An appeal to which many have responded: from economists – including Nobel Prize winners Christopher Pissarides and Michael Spence – to politicians. Without forgetting the over a thousand citizens who signed the petition on our site. The city was able to “create a system” managing to impose its candidacy against the competitors: the Festival of Economics will move to Turin from June. But the debate is not over. And today it continues with these two exceptional speeches: on the one hand the president of the Compagnia di San Paolo Francesco Profumo, on the other the president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino Foundation (Crt) Giovanni Quaglia. –
