There is a scent of rose so the breeder captures the fragrances

«Each rose has its own scent. Each variety is distinguished by fragrances that convey different emotions ». Antonio Marchese has created many: his two hectares of fields, on the heights of Sanremo, enchant tourists with colors and essences. «They would like to bring home those sensations – says the hybridizer, awarded in Italy and abroad – So I got the idea of creating perfumes dedicated to each variety of rose. From seed to packaging: because each one has its own personality ». He began to shape the Rosa Mystica, the one dedicated to the Madonna, with pink corollas pasted with pure white and a fruity and floral scent. Now he has extracted the fragrance from the Lady Carolyn Hanbury rose: the eau de parfum has a timeless elegance, with a romantic and sober character.

The whole production chain, from the creation of the rose, to the extraction of the perfume, to the packaging, to the logos, is “made in the Riviera dei Fiori”: an example of Ligurian excellence. “It’s vegetable gold. The first case of the creation of a new rose and the extraction of the fragrance for the creation of its perfume – underlines Marchese – I collaborate with the perfumer Simona Cotta, from Pantasina, in the Imperia area: she has developed an extraction protocol that stabilizes the perfume with essential oils, without dyes or preservatives ». The visionary hybridizer does not stop: with Cotta he is planning a public-private cooperation to give life to new roses suitable for botanical cosmetics. Scientific director of the initiative is Angela Bisio of the Faculty of Pharmacy-University of Genoa.
