Tongwei Co., Ltd. (600438) announced that its four subsidiaries recently signed a polysilicon long-order sales contract with Qinghai Gaojing, and the total sales are expected to exceed 50.9 billion yuan. In March this year, Tongwei also signed a 203,600-ton, two-year silicon material supply contract with LONGi, with an estimated amount of 44.2 billion yuan. In less than three months, Tongwei has won orders of nearly 100 billion yuan.

Industry insiders said that under the circumstance that silicon wafer profits are relatively considerable, silicon wafer production enterprises and expansion enterprises are more willing to maintain a high operating rate, and the raw material guarantee ability determines the profitability to a certain extent, so they are rushing to buy silicon materials. The current situation has led to an increase in the demand for polysilicon. In addition, polysilicon, as an irreplaceable upstream link in the current development of the photovoltaic industry, is also the link with the smallest production capacity in the current main industry chain. In the context of growing downstream demand, the price of silicon material has been effectively supported.

As for the company, Daqo Energy (688303) achieved a polysilicon production of 31,000 tons and a sales volume of 39,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 81.35%. The subsequent new production capacity will continue to be put into operation; Up to 200,000 tons, it is expected to ship 110,000-120,000 tons this year.
