A questionnaire of about seventy questions. Articulated. This is what, according to Il Sole 24 Ore, arrived yesterday evening, Monday 22 April, to the telephone companies competing with the former monopolist. Subject: the Netco operation which involves the sale of the Tim network to KKR, notified in recent days in Brussels.

The operators receiving the questionnaire were given until April 30th to answer questions ranging from the impact of the transaction on wholesale competition, to the impact of the Master service agreement (the contract between the future owner of the network and the Tim which will remain), up to the risk of potential coordination between Oper Fiber and Fibercop.

In short, all the potential critical issues, undoubtedly the result of the fears raised by the various operators, resulting in such a substantial questionnaire. For which, however, a not particularly long analysis and response time was given and was interrupted by the long weekend of April 25th.

The provision of the answers will be followed by two months for the EU decision. Which could give the green light, or ask for additional investigations in a “phase 2” which, however, in this case, would open up scenarios that are not entirely predictable for the operation resulting from an agreement that is valid until 15 October. Extendable deadline. But in that case it would still be a headache to deal with.
