TIM, Noovle becomes the first “BCorp” of the Group. The commitment to digitization and sustainability is strengthened

Noovle, the TIM Cloud company, becomes the first Benefit Company of the Group, in line with the sustainability values ​​promoted by the Group in recent years and also expressed by the 2021-2023 strategic plan, Beyond Connectivity.

By becoming a Benefit Company, Noovle in fact is committed to transforming its business model, aiming not only at business objectives, but also generating positive effects and, more generally, “value” for society as well. This is an objective for Noovle, which TIM is already pursuing through various activities planned and implemented within the strategic plan 2021-2023 symbolically renamed “Beyond connectivity”, thus recognizing digital innovation as a turning point towards a more performing future , which must however prove to have a low environmental impact.

Noovle is the first company of the TIM Group to become a Benefit Company, among the few of its kind in Italy where this company only appeared in 2016. A further demonstration of the TIM Group’s commitment to the energy transition in Italy: i Noovle Data Centers are in fact designed and built according to eco-sustainability criteria, certified according to international standards (LEED Gold), which provide for the efficient use of space, reduced energy consumption and particular attention to the materials used.

In addition, TIM has recently confirmed the “upward” review of the ESG objectives, declaring the group’s intention to eliminate the use of electricity deriving from non-renewable sources by 2025. By that date, therefore, all the companies of the group will be powered by energy deriving from “green” sources, further confirmation of the commitment of the company led by CEO Luigi Gubitosi to pursue a path of ever greater sustainability, environmental, social and economic .

The transition of Noovle towards the form of a Benefit Company only strengthens the TIM Group’s commitment to the spread of digitalisation in Italy, taking into account the sustainability factor and the social impact this entails on the country, as declared by the President of Noovle, Mariarosaria Taddeo, who explains how this will certainly generate social and environmental value, perfectly in line with TIM principles.

The transformation of Noovle is in line with the broader process of reviewing and implementing important sustainability logics initiated by TIM with the “Beyond Connectivity” strategic plan. The Group, already at the presentation of the plan, in fact underlined how it aims to be at the forefront of the digitization process of the country, seeing in digital innovation much more than a simple increase in services, but a lever for a more competitive future for commercial and industrial realities of the peninsula.

In fact, the digitization and dissemination of digital skills become for TIM the fulcrum for the growth of the country, thus aiming to accelerate sustainable models for the provision of services, for businesses and also for the Public Administration, positively influencing both the environmental impact and the social fabric by promoting the inclusion of all citizens.

In fact, several projects have already been launched within the plan, such as Smart District to support the digitization of Italian companies, helping them to grow and become more competitive on the market thanks to the integration of digital services, without however negatively affecting the environmental impact and indeed, providing targeted solutions to reduce costs, waste and emissions.
