Positive trend for Asian equities, with the Hong Kong stock exchange rising by 1.44%, supported by the buy on Tencent, Alibaba and NetEase. The Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed for holidays, will reopen the day after tomorrow. The Nikkei 225 index on the Tokyo stock exchange rises by just 0.10%, Sydney + 0.47%, Seoul + 0.33%.
Investors’ attention continues to remain focused on the inversion of the US yield curve in the 2-10 year segment, a phenomenon that is considered to be a harbinger of phases of recession in the United States.
The curve reversed in this stretch last week for the first time since 2019; currently, 10-year Treasury rates are at 2.4152%, compared to 2.4808% for two-year Treasury rates.
US futures are not very moving and fluctuate around parity.
