Toyota Motor Europe has confirmed that it will continue to produce its new A-segment model at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ) in Kolin. The plant has already been prepared for Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) for the production of the new Toyota Yaris, and with the next A-segment model, the site will introduce a second model based on TNGA, using the GA- B. The new A-segment model is a European car in every sense, from development to production. He underlines the company’s commitment to expand European manufacturing following its recent announcement to grow to 1.5 million sales in Europe by 2025. “We are confident that this model will make an important contribution to Toyota’s European growth and underlines our commitment in this region. It will represent the entry model to the brand for segment A customers and by sharing the same platform as Yaris and Yaris Cross, it will help provide the economies of scale necessary for the production of compact cars ” says Marvin Cooke, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Europe.
