Second appointment with the Ducati World Première 2022 and second round of news for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer: two new Scramblers presented, the first, an 1100, is full of historical references, while the second, a classic 800, is designed for a purely urban use or for a few out-of-town tours.
Scrambler 1100 Tribute PRO
It was created to pay homage to the history of the air-cooled twin-cylinder engine, fifty years after its first introduction on a Ducati, which took place in 1971. For this bike, the style center has deliberately recalled some iconic Ducati elements of the 70s, such as the special “Giallo Ocra” livery, the Ducati logo of the time, designed by Giugiaro, and the spoked wheels, in black to better integrate with the tones of the celebratory colors. Further distinctive stylistic details are represented by the circular mirrors and the brown saddle with highlighted stitching. Technically it does not differ from the other bikes in the Scrambler 1100 PRO family: it is equipped with a 1,079 cc engine that delivers 86 HP at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 88 Nm at 4,750 rpm, characterized by a power output generous especially at low revs. The chassis and the wide handlebar make it quite agile both in city traffic and between one bend and another in the mountains. The three Riding Modes available, each associated with different levels of Ducati traction control, and the ABS Cornering, which is also effective when cornering, make it a fairly safe and reliable bike.
The Scrambler 1100 Tribute PRO is part of the range of the most performing bikes of the Scrambler family, together with the 1100 Dark PRO and 1100 Sport PRO models.
Scrambler Urban Motard
Also in this case there are few technical differences compared to the other models in the 800 range, but this new Urban Motard sports a livery that combines in an unprecedented way the white and red Ducati GP ’19 in an energetic graphic and openly inspired by the world of street. metropolitan art and graffiti. The reference to the Motard world is reflected in the choice of elements such as the 17 ”spoked wheels, the high front mudguard, the flat saddle and the side number plates. This Scrambler Urban Motard is powered by an 803cc L-twin engine with desmodromic distribution, which delivers a power of 73 hp at 8,250 rpm and a torque of 66 Nm at 5,750 rpm, delivering brilliant but never excessive performance for the pilot: the result is great agility in city traffic and guaranteed fun on itineraries full of curves. Also in this case there is the ABS Cornering braking control system, which guarantees high levels of safety even when the bike is inclined. The new Scrambler Urban Motard joins the other bikes in the 800 range of the “Land of Joy”: Icon, Icon Dark, Nightshift and Desert Sled.
All Scrambler models are prepared for the Ducati Multimedia System, which enables smartphone connection via Bluetooth, while the USB socket under the saddle is standard. Fans – and the manufacturer – are well aware that these bikes are designed to be widely customized: Ducati offers a wide range of accessories and clothing on the same theme, including helmets, jackets and lifestyle products, as far as clothing is concerned, and saddles, tank cheeks and approved exhausts, as regards the accessories, which can be configured directly on the Ducati website at the time of the order.
