UK Takeaway Owner Loses Legal Battle and £12,000 to Tesla

In the UK, a takeaway business owner has lost a legal battle against Tesla, resulting in a £12,000 fine. Amanj Ali, the owner of Colorado’s Chicken in Bury, had registered the trademark “Tesla Chicken and Pizza” with the intention of opening a new store. However, Tesla sought to protect its brand in the food and beverage sector, leading to a ruling in favor of the car company by the UK Intellectual Property Office. Despite considering an appeal, Ali has decided not to do so due to the high costs involved. Instead, he plans to focus on his business and save money, with the aim of opening a second Colorado’s Chicken location. He expressed his frustration at the situation, stating that he would no longer welcome Elon Musk at his business.
