ROME (ITALPRESS) – Unionmeccanica Confapi and the trade unions Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil and Uilm-Uil have signed the hypothesis of an agreement for the renewal of the National Collective Labor Agreement for workers in the small and medium metalworking, goldsmith and plant installation industries. A renewal that involves over 40 thousand companies and more than 400 thousand workers, throughout the Italian territory. The new contract, with effect from 1 June 2021 and lasting until 31 December 2024, provides for an increase in the minimums on the average level of 104 euros which will be distributed in 4 tranches: 23 euros in June 2021 and in June 2022, 25 euros in June 2023 and 33 euros in June 2024. The agreement comes only 7 months after the expiry of the previous contract. “Unionmeccanica has worked hard to reach the renewal agreement, considering the income support and well-being of workers among the priorities”, underlines Lorenzo Giotti, president of Unionmeccanica Confapi. “With labor costs among the highest in Europe, with the challenges that our entire production system must face, the increase in minimum wages was a good compromise between the containment of labor costs and the increase in purchasing power. We have taken into consideration the competitiveness needs of our companies, without compromising the income of the workers “, he adds. For the general secretary of Fiom-Cgil, Francesca Re David, it is “a contract that enhances and recognizes the work of metalworkers in small and medium-sized enterprises. The wage increase and regulatory improvements are the result of a contractual choice aimed at to prevent competition on the rights and wages of metalworkers “. For Rocco Palombella, general secretary of Uilm-Uil, “with the renewal of this important contract we are giving an injection of confidence to the industrial sector in a complicated situation. The recovery of our country depends on the restart of the industry. an important signal to workers, increasing wages, contractual welfare and supplementary healthcare “. For Roberto Benaglia, general secretary of Fim Cisl, “the agreement reached today is important not only for its contents, but also for the symbolic meaning it represents. An important agreement that, especially at this time, is worth double”. (ITALPRESS). ads / com 26-May-21 7:03 pm
