The expressive design of the coupe has a high recognition value. Its large air intake and IQ.Light Led matrix headlights with smart high beams and 3D Led rear lights as standard give the ID.5 Gtx an even more dynamic look.
The basis is always the Meb platform (Modulare Elektrifizierungsbaukasten) of the Volkswagen group on which the other models of the range and of the group are also developed such as ID.3, ID4, Audi Q4 e-tron, Skoda Enyaq iV and Cupra Born.
The dimensions are generous: 4,599 mm long (4,582 mm in the Gtx version) with a wheelbase of 2,766 mm and a boot volume of 549 liters.
How are the interiors
The modern digital cockpit offers a new operating concept. The driver display and the high-resolution multimedia system offer precise images. An innovative augmented reality head-up display (optional) within the driver’s field of vision presents additional information. Absolutely new is the 3.0 software which features various improvements including natural voice control (“Hallo ID”). It is now learning enabled and allows online access to information from the cloud.
For mood interior lighting, the Ambient Lighting function offers a choice of up to 30 colors. We Connect services provide the driver with real-time online traffic information, online map updates, information on charging stations, web radio and much more.
Traction and engine control systems
The traction of the ID.5 is rear (like the sisters ID.3 and ID.4) and, for the Gtx version, on the other hand, there are two electric motors, one for each axle, and the traction is integral.
The Vehicle Dynamics Manager links the traction and chassis control systems together, while an optional adaptive Dcc chassis ensures optimum driving dynamics. ID.5 and ID.5 Gtx by inertia in driving mode D and recovering energy in mode B.
