The new Volkswagen Id. Buzz will arrive in Europe in 2022. The electric version of the historic Volkswagen Bulli will arrive in the old continent next year and on the American market by 2023. The news was confirmed by Carsten Intra, head of Volkswagen’s commercial division .

The new Volkswagen Id. Buzz will arrive in Europe in short and long wheelbase versions and you can choose between the model intended for passenger transport or the commercial one. Produced on the modular Meb platform, already used for the Volkswagen Id.3 and Id.4 and starting point for a long list of electric models of the Vw Group, the new electric Bulli will most likely be available in different versions that will differ in autonomy power and traction. The access model will be indicatively a rear-wheel drive version with about 200 horsepower, while the Id will arrive at the top of the range. 300 horsepower buzz dumped on all-wheel drive.

Autonomous driving of Argo AI from 2025
The electric Bulli will also be offered starting from 2025 in an autonomous driving version developed by Argo AI, the new startup created in collaboration with Ford and also dedicated to the development of highly automated autonomous driving systems. The goal is to aim for ride-hailing and car pooling services by offering a commercial vehicle with autonomous driving at least level 3.
