Welfare, the paycheck premium is the most desired benefit by workers

by admin

ROMA – Few cursed and immediately. The paycheck bonus is the most desired benefit by workers. The one with which you can basically choose what to do. It puts it first in an analysis of workers’ most desired benefits, a research by Harris Interactive conducted for Sodexo, a company that offers welfare services and meal vouchers.

The survey shows that immediate premiums are in first place (34%), followed by those related to food & beverage (24%). Only in third place are financial incentives and the possibility of working in smart working (both equal to 23%). And lunch vouchers resist (22%).

The top 10 of the survey closed with private medical assistance (21%), the subsidy for public transport, psycho-physical health benefits, training programs and long-term benefits (all at 20%). In the queue are the company car (13%), services for children (11%) and the company credit card (10%).

That the “prize” is the most popular benefit is also demonstrated by those companies that if in this pandemic year have awarded their employees a reward in their paychecks: Ferrari, FCA-PSA, Ferrero, Unieuro, to name a few. The most generous, as always, is the team from Maranello, with 7,500 euros, and among the latest Nestlè with 2,500 euros.

The pandemic, however, has been so long that some benefits, starting with smart working, have fallen in the preferences of workers. There is a desire to go back to the office, so much so that the possibility of working from home has even lost 4% of approval in just twelve months, moving from second to fourth place in the top 10.

But the decline also involved health and wellness benefits, which lost 3 percentage points. On the other hand, meal vouchers (+ 2%) and training courses (+ 2%) are on the rise. The latter are also appreciated in view of a more rapid and decisive digitization of the Italian economy, which will constitute a challenge for those who have a job and are afraid of losing it.

“Flexibility, freedom of choice, ease of use and speed of use are the key elements in the provision of our services and technology is an integral part of this vision”, comments Florent Lambert, the new CEO of Sodexo Benefits & Rewards Services. for the Italian market. And it must be said that many benefits are also proving to be a way to retain talent.
