With the advancement of my country’s capital market reform, positive news on macroeconomic fundamentals has continued, and A-shares have become more attractive to investors and funds. In addition to northbound funds, foreign capital, new public offering funds, private equity funds and other types of funds are coming in. The wealth effect of the stock market attracts more investors to continue to enter the market, accelerating the promotion of household savings and wealth management upgrades. Of course, it does not rule out short-term speculative capital deployment of RMB assets, the expected increase in RMB appreciation and other factors, and we must beware of risks caused by the highly speculative hot money fast in and out.
Secondly, in the process of new investors entering the market, not only the number of individual investors’ opening accounts increased, but the number of A-share institutional investors’ opening accounts and shareholding ratios also increased. According to statistics from Haitong Securities, as of the end of March 2021, according to the calculation of the market value of circulation, currently six types of investors, including general legal persons (mainly listed companies), retail investors, public funds, foreign capital, insurance (including social security and annuities), and private equity funds, hold The proportion of the free float stock market value of A shares to the total float stock market value was 44.3%, 19.5%, 7.5%, 5.3%, 4.1%, and 2.8% respectively.
