On October 9, the “Under the Bright Sun” chorus symphony concert will kick off the curtain of this festival. Under the leadership of conductor Zhang Guoyong, the Chinese Music Association Symphony Union-BMF Festival Orchestra, composed of more than 100 party members and performers from more than 20 orchestras across the country, made its debut. They will co-interpret the composer Zou Ye with the Lanzhou Concert Hall Chorus. “Defending the Yellow River”, “Listening to Mothers Telling Stories of the Past”, “On the Field of Hope”, “Not Forgetting the Original Heart” and other works, look back on the party’s century-old journey in singing.
In 2021, many composers such as Stravinsky, Saint-Saëns, Mahler, Vivaldi, etc. have ushered in the anniversary year of their birthdays or deaths. Zou Shuang, the artistic director of the Beijing International Music Festival, introduced and paid tribute to many Western music. Masters will be the heavyweight content of this festival. At the same time, the festival will also give more attention to Chinese musicians such as Ding Shande, Guo Wenjing, Chen Qigang, Tan Dun, and use the form of “dialogue” between the East and the West to build a broader vision. Conductors such as Huang Yi, Jing Huan, Zhang Jiemin, and performers such as Xu Weiling and Tang Junqiao will appear in these themed concerts.

From October 16th to October 17th, the newly launched “Music Carnival” of the music festival will enter Beijing’s fashion landmark Sanlitun Taikoo Li, starting from the Brazilian style drum parade at noon, music afternoon tea, video show, new national style/ New appreciation of classical music, secret gardens, performances in the Red Pavilion and other activities will continue into the evening. Apart from watching the performance, lectures, meet-and-greets, and workshops on different topics will be held in bookstores and public leisure venues. In 2021, the Beijing International Music Festival will continue the “Lunch Concert” co-launched with Beijing Music Broadcasting. In addition, more than 10 concerts performed in the theater will be broadcast live on the Internet, and the tracks involved will be presented online in the form of “on-demand”. Under the premise of respecting copyright, the entire 16-day music festival will be condensed into a cloud music library for audiences to remember at any time.
The Beijing International Music Festival will continue to provide exhibition space for youth power.
