ROME – The energy transition has now become an essential element also in motorsport and Free2move eSolutions actively participates with the most suitable answers. The company therefore offers the right charging solutions to the Smart EQ Fortwo e-cup, the touring championship dedicated to the iconic fully electric car. Unexpected performance cars that need fast reloads in the race. On the other hand, electric cars will be increasingly protagonists now that the European Parliament has approved the stop to sales of thermal engine cars from 2035 with the aim of eliminating CO2 emissions by 2050. The eSolutions columns therefore provide the service of fast charging to pilots participating in the Smart EQ Fortwo e-cup. And 24 recharging points have already been made available since the round of the championship which took place over the weekend in Misano Adriatico, on the circuit named after the unforgettable motorcycle champion Marco “Sic” Simoncelli. Twenty easyWallboxes have been installed in the paddock area, the ideal solution for easily recharging (even at home) electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Thanks to the simplicity of use, it is enough to connect the easyWallbox to a Schuko socket to use it up to 2.4 kW, but with a professional installation it is possible to obtain a power of up to 7 kW and in this last configuration the Smart Fortwo of the championship. Four other devices, this time eProWallbox, have been installed in the Romagna racetrack: flexible and connected, the eProWallboxes charge up to 22 kW and thanks to the 4G / Wi-Fi connectivity options it is possible to monitor the charging sessions even remotely. After Misano, the Smart EQ Fortwo e-cup caravan will move to Varano de ‘Melegari, in the province of Parma, where they will take to the track on the weekend of 9 and 10 July. Once the summer break is over, the challenges will resume on 3 and 4 September in Imola, and then an appointment with the grand finale of the championship on 15 and 16 October in Modena.
