A riot of color in make-up on the Milanese catwalks for next summer

by admin

The Milan Fashion Week, which has just ended, is back bold but at the same time bon ton. Leaving aside the minimalist and slightly sad looks in the full pandemic theme, the fashion shows were a hymn to joy, to the desire to return to normality but with a smile on the mouth and the light in the eyes. And the beauty looks confirmed this trend.

«The proof is the return of blush, lively and well visible – says Luca Mannucci, make-up artist and expert in armocromia -. No longer applied to the center of the face, but on the upper part, an 80s inspiration, to better outline the cheekbones and make the face more hollowed out. The colors are bright: orange, coral, peach, terracotta, perfect for a contrast with a matte complexion, like the one we saw on the catwalk. The glow effect, in fact, which has dominated for many years, is set aside in favor of an opaque effect, not achieved with powder, but with foundation and concealers with a dusty finish ».

And he continues: «The mouth returns to the foreground, a clear response to the obligation of the mask and above all the desire to show it. Green light for orange, carmine red, burgundy and gothic nuances. The surprise? The return of the gloss, both in its classic and transparent version, and in the red one. In this riot of colors, but it is fair to point out that nude make-up also showed on the catwalk, the eyes are enhanced by graphic and colorful eyeliner: green, aquamarine blue and pink, the trendy color of next spring. Two-tone winged eyes dominate: lime green and turquoise, yellow and orange. The gamble? The liquid eyeliner and white eyeshadow opens the eye a lot, but it also tends to highlight the defects, therefore reserved only for very young women ».

A colorful make-up

We all hope next spring will be an explosion of colors, light and joy. And this joy also comes from the catwalks, bright colors were the common thread in make-up. Vibrant and colorful under eye eyeshadows by Del Core; a bold cat eye that stretches far beyond the natural line of the eyelid at Missoni, at Giorgio Armani, however, the guru Linda Cantello has put a touch of green on the eyelids, the same for all models. Donatella Versace amazes once again, for her Pat McGrath has created a winged eye with strong graphics in acid green and blue, or in yellow and orange, of great impact, which contrasts with glossed and natural lips.

John Richmond, on the other hand, focuses on the typical cat eye with a comma up, some have a punk touch given by the horizontal white lines outlined towards the outside. Etro looks to the 70s, but not in an obvious way, the models show off a sprinkle of “stardust” under their eyes, small studs applied like freckles that go well with long and slightly wavy hippie-style hair. Fendi decrees the return of the red lacquered lipstick, combined with an imperceptible smokey eye, in the name of color and rediscovered sensuality. The master’s touch, created by Peter Philips, is blush, an orange with an Eighties mood mixed with caramel for a gold effect that gives a multidimensional look. Orange was also chosen by Max Mara, but for the mouth, a tangerine-colored lipstick capable of giving energy to even the most dull face.
