Liu Zifeng, born in Meng County, Henan Province in 1938, is a national first-class actor. In 1963, he graduated from the Performance Department of the Shanghai Theater Academy, and later joined the China Welfare Society Children’s Art Theater as an actor. Member of China Democratic League, former first-class actor of China Welfare Society Children’s Art Theater, retired in 1994. Member of China Dramatists Association and Shanghai Branch; member of China Film Association and Shanghai Branch; member of China Film Performing Arts Association; member of China Television Artists Association Shanghai Branch.
His stage works include children’s plays “Little Football Team”, “Childhood”, “Song of Little Friends”, plays “In the Name of Revolution”, “Steel Torrent”, “The History of the Qing Palace” and “Tester Andronicus”. The film and television works starring him include: TV series “Tea Saint Lu Yu”, “Phoenix Qin”, etc.; movies “Tiangu”, “Happy Soul”, “Black Cannon Incident”, “Dislocation” and so on.
In 1986, he won the Best Actor Award at the 6th China Film Golden Rooster Award for “Black Cannon Incident”.
“Black Cannon Incident” is based on Zhang Xianliang’s novel “Romantic Black Cannon”, written by Li Wei and directed by Huang Jianxin. Liu Zifeng once recalled the past of filming “Black Cannon Incident” in an interview. At that time, he had just finished filming “University in Exile” and received an invitation from Xi’an Film Studio.
