——Interview with Ding Yinnan, Honorary Committee Member of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and National First-Class Director
For a period of time, some chaos has appeared in the entertainment industry, which is mainly composed of literary and artistic practitioners. A very small number of performing arts stars continue to break through the bottom line of social morality and the red line of national laws, which has aroused high attention and strong criticism from the society and the public.
Ding Yinnan, an honorary member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, an advisor to the China Film Association, and a national first-level director, said that the chaos of the “rice circle”, the phenomenon of “top stream”, the sky-high pay, and a very small number of performing arts stars broke the moral bottom line and the legal red line, making illegal and unethical behaviors. The behavior has caused a bad social impact, severely corrupted the atmosphere of the industry, damaged the image of the film worker team, and hindered the healthy and orderly development of the film industry. It also makes every filmmaker who deeply loves this industry deeply sad.
Ding Yinnan has been in the industry for more than 40 years since he directed the first film “Spring Rain” in 1979. He has experienced the development and growth of Chinese film and knows the hardships and difficulties behind the film industry. On June 27th, Ding Yinnan participated in the “Symposium to Commemorate the Artistic Life of the Famous Film Performing Artists Yu Lan and Tian Fang” hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Film Association, and shared with everyone the memory of the noble sentiments of the two artists Deyi Shuangxin And the artistic style of excellence. Ding Yinnan recalled that when Yu Lan and Tian Fang were shaping the characters, the light in their eyes was so pure and beautiful, reflecting the brilliance of human nature. Only by integrating their belief in communism and loyalty to the revolution with their roles can they present such touching eyes.
“Noble moral sentiment and superb artistic talent are the necessary conditions to create an excellent film artist.” Ding Yinnan said that “the combination of morality and art” and “the unity of human and art” should be regarded as self-requirements. “Germany” and “art” complement each other and are indispensable, and “Germany” precedes art. “Germany” is the soul that supports the creation of film art and the lasting vitality of film works. Our current film workers should learn from the older generation of film artists such as Lan and Tian Fang. In December 2020, the China Film Association established a professional ethics committee for the film industry. As the director of the professional ethics construction committee of the film industry, Ding Yinnan hopes to unite and lead more filmmakers through the work of the committee, and jointly participate in the construction of industry self-discipline and style.
Ding Yinnan said that compliance with laws and regulations is the basic bottom line of art. Literary and art workers should take virtue and art as the pursuit of art, starting from themselves, and constantly improving their academic, cultivation, and cultivation, and follow the arts with morality and persuade people with morality. We must adhere to the people-centered creative orientation and insist on the people’s supremacy.
At the same time, Ding Yinnan believes that it is necessary to resolutely resist bad phenomena as an industry constraint. “On the one hand, we must increase publicity and praise and encouragement to film workers in Deyi and Yixin. On the other hand, we must provide for illegal and unethical behaviors and bad artists. We should also state our position, resolutely resist, and do not work with them, so as to uphold the righteousness, eliminate evil, and promote turbidity.”
