Alderley Edge, the supercar village

by admin

ROME – In green England and precisely 19 kilometers from Manchester there is a village of not even 5,000 souls that seems to come out of a Harry Potter book. Everything seems to be surrounded by an enchanted atmosphere, also thanks to its architectural style and lush nature. But Alderley Edge – this is its name – is not famous for this, because there are many such villages in England, but for being one of the richest places to live in the UK. So exclusive that it has earned the nickname “Knightsbridge of the North”, referring to the homonymous London neighborhood known for its shops and nabob lifestyle.

And then: trendy bars, luxurious cafes and restaurants, sparkling shops have attracted many actors and multimillion-dollar businessmen to this small village in Cheshire County. Especially several Premier League champions. And where there are footballers and millionaires, there are cars; and what cars. Result: in a few years the fame of Alderley Edge has gone around the world. Every weekend hundreds of motor enthusiasts go on pilgrimage armed with mobile phones to immortalize the supercars that slyly stroll through the streets of the center. They can see them up close, peek into the passenger compartment from the window, take breakneck selfies taking advantage of the fact that Lamborghini, Bugatti, McLaren and rare vintage cars can be found placidly parked on the curb as if they were a Golf (with everything respect for Golf). In just one afternoon someone spotted a caravan with a million pound Jaguar E-Type at its head, followed by a Lamborghini Aventador and a Ferrari Pista Spider. Bentleys and Rolls Royce don’t even notice them anymore.

To testify all this is the most indomitable of the voyeurs of beauties on wheels: he is 23 years old, he is English and his name is Jordan Belsham. He says he was the first to notice Alderley Edge, when he was still playing with toy cars as a child. He publishes all his photos on his Instagram profile, and is trying to turn this passion into a real job (to the point that in July he will debut in the adult world with an event called “Supercar Sunday)”.

He says he spends about 11 hours a day looking for the most unusual cars. “I love coming here not knowing what to expect,” confesses Jordan. “You may even end up finding the best car in the world.”
