Another forgotten Lamborghini: in England an Espada appears in a barn after 30 years

by admin

Perhaps someone remembers the recent happy ending story of the 1971 Lamborghini Miura, forgotten for over forty years in a warehouse after a move from Iran to California. Then, restored, it went to auction last August 14 for 2 million dollars and will be able to have its second life.

Well, now another forgotten Lamborghini has popped up in Kendal, in the north of England, almost opposite the Isle of Man. An Espada, to be precise. Where was it? In a barn. Left there for over 30 years: it begins to seem almost a contagious thing, a novel invented by a film script. But no, it is pure reality. The story then becomes even more suggestive because no one knows who the owner of the Lamborghini Espada is and why he left it in a “cage”. This last word was not used at random: the Espada was placed, closed, between a Vauxhall Calibra and a Vauxhall Cavalier. These two protected the Espada, as if to prevent some thief from stealing it.

How did this story come to light? For an unpaid rent. The mysterious owner of the three cars had rented the barn from the landowner, and then stopped paying the rent. Nor did he go to get the cars back. More curiously, not even the owner of the land has ever touched the three cars. Then it failed, and so the next owner discovered the treasure, bringing it to light, literally speaking: the Espada was in the dark, spared even by the rats, who only partially damaged it.

This Lamborghini Espada – British version – is one of the 130 units produced by Lamborghini with the steering wheel on the right, therefore a rarity. And, another surprise, the odometer was stopped at 7,242 kilometers. All that remains is to hire Sherlock Holmes for the investigation: everyone wants to know the owner …
