At “Passepartout en hiver” a story of life and travels: Sunday 30 January Stella Perrone will present the book of her husband Roberto Galli “My life. Autobiography”. The journalist Manuela Caracciolo (at 5 pm) will lead the meeting.
Galli’s book is a quick journey back in life, when he was abandoning him due to a serious illness disabling that snatched him from the affection of his loved ones last June.
Through writing, the author relives all the stages of his earthly journey: family, love, affections are reworked in a schematic and synthetic, but effective way.
In the book he tells how the course of study undertaken and the social context of his hometown, Asti, have influenced his profession and related activities. «Ample space is dedicated to his passions – Perrone anticipates – travel and geopolitics, so perfectly interconnected. There are episodes of some particularly significant journeys, including advice and suggestions for those who share the passion ».
Narrating himself, Roberto becomes more aware of how much his life in 64 years had been so “rich”: “A wealth that he wanted to trace and leave as a testimony, inviting the reader not to waste any moment of this wealth, even in the darkest moments».
An autobiographical book, which also reports some passages from the travel blog edited by the same author, “Travel enthusiast, inveterate traveler”: “I have traveled across five continents and I want to share images and emotions”. Why travel? The answer in the words of Galli entrusted to the network: “Traveling opens the mind, enriches our culture and certainly not only the geographic one, it helps to socialize but also to make us independent, it teaches us to overcome difficulties and adapt to various situations at times unpredictable: in a word it makes us better and smarter ». The book is published by Letteratura Alternativa: the proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Con te association which also assists seriously ill patients in need of palliative care at home.
Born in Asti on 1 June 1957 (where he has always lived), graduated in Economics and Commerce in Turin, for 25 years he was an accountant. For 12 years president of the College of Auditors of the Province (1998-2000), lecturer from 1987 to 2019, in his spare time he cultivated his great passion for travel, visiting 65 countries on five continents. His wife, Stella Perrone, has been a director of the Alfieri Institute since 2019. She has been a teacher of Computer Science and Mathematics at Castigliano, where she was also assistant assistant to the manager, digital animator and trainer Pnsd (National Digital School Plan). habit for the Passepartout meetings, it will be one of the painters of Cna Artisti who will interpret the theme of the meeting. On Sunday the coordinator Marisa Garramone will be a guest.
Just on Sunday past, the Library hosted Alberto Ernesto Perduca protagonist of the meeting “The Balkans between the past that does not pass and the future that does not arrive”, a theme that was interpreted by the painter Maurizio Carrer.
