At Villa d’Este with the 50 most beautiful cars ever

by admin

ROME – The 50 most beautiful, precious and elegant cars will be back in Villa d’Este, on Lake Como. Not only the history of the automobile and incredible examples of 4-wheel collecting, but also an exclusive look at the future of the car and the relationship between lifestyles, eco-friendly luxury, culture and mobility.
The one that will take place in Villa d’Este from 1st to 3rd October 2021 on the shores of Lake Como will probably be the most exclusive edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, because the limitations required by the pandemic situation have imposed the number of accesses and ‘jewels’ on display, concentrating the event on about 50 exclusively selected historic cars.

They will be divided into eight classes which – the evocative titles underline – highlight the most exciting and attractive interpretations in the history of the automobile. There will be the A-Class – 20th century style: from Touring Torpedo to Racy Roadster; Class B – Development of the theme: space, rhythm and grace; the C-Class – Showdown Showdown: Great Britain and Germany fight for the supremacy of luxury; Class D – Italian Granturismo: in search of the perfect GT formula; the E-Class – Big Band from the 40s to the fantastic 80s: five decades of endurance racing; the F-Class – A passion for perfection: we are celebrating 90 years of Pininfarina; the G-Class – The birth of the Supercar: reference points in Latin style; and finally the H-Class – The next generation: the hypercars of the 90s.

Due to the participation limits dictated by the anti-Covid rules, the public event in the park of Villa Erba and the Motorbike Competition will not be held in this edition but the loyal public will be able to follow the legendary car parade from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 2 October 2021 in livestream on the site https://www.concorsodeleganzavilladeste.com In the edition that marks the passing of the baton from Ulrich Knieps, who directed the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este from 2014 to 2020 to the head of Bmw Group Classic , Helmut Käs, there will also be moments of further exclusivity. Renowned artist Jeff Koons will provide the first information on his BMW 8X project Jeff Koons – a limited edition of the M850i xDrive Gran Coupé – during a closed room presentation.
This collaboration, which comes after the BMW M3 GT2 Art Car built in 2010, embodies precision, refinement and craftsmanship, and fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the Renaissance residence on the shores of Lake Como.

Jeff Koons will join the head of BMW Group Design, Adrian van Hooydonk, to talk about the connection between art and mobility, inspiration and creativity and the interaction between these different areas. BMW Group will also present a pioneering concept for sustainable mobility at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este: the i Vision Circular, which was unveiled at the IAA Mobility in Munich a few days ago. The vision car was designed consistently on the basis of the principles of the circular economy. The goal is to achieve 100% use of recycled materials and 100% recyclability.

The world debut of the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is also expected in the Mosaic Garden of Villa d’Este, the initial apogee of a four-year one-off construction project on behalf of three Rolls-Royce customers. The convertible has a length of 5.80m and features a long Boat Tail that recalls the look of yachts to provide a perfect accompaniment for the journey along the fabulous winding road on the shores of Lake Como.

Also this year the program of the Concorso d’Eleganza foresees the exhibition of the participating cars and the crowning of the winners of the most elegant and technically excellent beauty contest by the Jury. On Saturday the winners of the Villa d’Este Gold Cup will be awarded. To know the winners of the various vehicle classes, the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award and the Best of Show award for the overall winner of all classes, it will be necessary to wait until Sunday.
