[Epoch Times, February 18, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Ma Weifen reported) “Elvis” (Chinese mainland, Hong Kong translation of “Elvis”) is the latest film by Academy Award-nominated director Baz Luhmann The work, starring Austin Butler and Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hank, revealed the first trailer earlier today (18) (click here).
The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler) and his relationship with his mysterious manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks) complex relationship.
The story will delve into the more than 20 years of collaboration between Elvis and Parker, from Elvis’ rise to fame, to international superstardom, as America’s changing cultural landscape and loss of innocence set the backdrop. One of the most influential figures on Elvis is his wife, Priscilla Presley (played by Olivia DeJonge).
In addition to Tom Hank and Austin Butler, Elvis Elvis also features award-winning stage actress Helen Thomson as Elvis’ mother, Gladys Presley. Presley); Richard Rothberg as Elvis’ father “Vernon Presley”; and Olivia DeJonge as Elvis’ wife “Priscilla Presley” ” (Priscilla Presley).
Other key casts include Luke Bryce as “Jerry Schilling”; Natasha Bassett as “Dixie Locke”; David Wenham (David Wenham) as “Hank Snow”; Kelvin Harrison Jr. as “BB King” (BB King).

Director Baz Luhmann also hired celebrities from all walks of life to play some of the film’s legendary musicians, including singer-songwriter Yola as “Sister Rosetta Tharpe” , male model Alton Mason (Alton Mason) as “Little Richard” (Little Richard), Texas-born Gary Clark Jr. (Gary Clark Jr.) as “Arthur Crudup” (Arthur Crudup).
Principal photography for Elvis Elvis was in Queensland, Australia, with assistance from the Queensland Government, Screen Queensland and Producer Offset. The film is expected to be released in Taiwan on June 23.
