Beyoncé and Jay Z
According to foreign media reports, the superstar Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s mansion in New Orleans, Louisiana, suddenly caught fire. After investigation, the police believed that this should be an arson case.
TMZ reported that on the evening of Wednesday, July 21, a smoke alarm in a vacant residential building in the Garden District was triggered. The authorities dispatched 22 firefighters to the scene. It took more than two hours to put out the fire, but no one was injured. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also sent a number of field officers to conduct on-site investigations.
The police said that after 6pm, they received a report saying they saw a suspicious man fleeing the house. It is believed that the fire had already occurred at that time.
A neighbor said: “I just turned the corner with my dog and saw heavy smoke coming out of the house. A neighbor said that she saw a guy turning out of the fence.”
After investigation, the authorities determined that the fire was located in the kitchen. They found gasoline cans and several books in the oven.
This house, built in 1927, has six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms and covers an area of 15,200 square feet. It was originally Westminster Presbyterian Church, which was later converted into a ballet school.
In 2015, Beyoncé bought the property through her management company, Pawood Entertainment. Neighbors said that in the past two years, they have rarely seen people coming in and out, the door of the house is often unlocked, and people have been broken in before.
Beyoncé’s manager declined to comment on this incident.
