Beyoncé makes country music history with new hits

CNN – Beyoncé has made her mark on the country music charts with her new songs “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” On Tuesday, Billboard announced that “Texas Hold ‘Em” had debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, while “16 Carriages” is at No. 9. This makes Beyoncé only the second solo female artist to achieve this feat, following Taylor Swift, who had songs top the country charts in 2021.

Not only has Beyoncé broken barriers in the country music genre, but she has also made history by becoming the first woman to top both the Hot Country and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958. The only other artists to have achieved this are Morgan Wallen, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles.

The two new tracks were released on February 11, following a surprise Super Bowl ad for Verizon, in which Beyoncé was challenged to test the company’s 5G capabilities. This led to the release of the new music and the announcement of Beyoncé’s eighth solo studio album, “Renaissance Act II,” which is set to be released on March 29.

Beyoncé’s recent cowgirl-inspired fashion choices had hinted at her foray into country music, surprising many fans who were still enjoying her disco-focused 2022 album “Renaissance.” However, for the Beyhive and loyal supporters, this evolution comes as no surprise, as they expected nothing less from Queen Bey.

Beyoncé’s country music era marks an exciting development in the music industry, and fans are eagerly anticipating her new album release next month.
