Bianca Saunders brought the brand’s new Spring/Summer 2023 collection during Paris Fashion Week, inspired by the typical Jamaican meal Hard Food, which contains boiled yam, plantain and dumplings. Although it is called Hard Food, it tastes very Soft and tough. This season, Bianca Saunders hopes to re-examine and define the brand’s connotation through this contrast between the exterior and the interior reality.
Featuring Bianca’s signature dropped shoulders, the Lexxus jacket and raised-edged bomber return in green corduroy. The layered, reversible long-sleeve suit creates a relaxed feel, and the split hem flicks and closes for a contrasting peek. The iridescent jacquard’s oil-colored streaks shimmer like TV static, reminiscent of 80s dancehall VHS movies. A slouchy, draped grained jersey pullover pays homage to the SS22 collection in deconstructed and twisted mesh-print crepe.
