SampleScience has released a free virtual reproduction of a stylophone portable electronic instrument from the 1960s.

Most stylophone plug-ins and libraries use very short samples, which do not reflect the erratic nature of this instrument. With Stylo Synthesis, each note is sampled for 5 seconds to capture these magical imperfections. The end result is the most accurate stylophone emulation, preserving the start and sustain phases of the original instrument.
