The sharing session started with the novel “Brother Yingwu” created by Li Er. “Brother Yingwu” was first published in the special issue of “Harvest” in the autumn and winter volumes in 2018, published by People’s Literature Publishing House. The novel revolves around the preparations for the establishment of the Institute of Confucianism at Jeju University and welcoming the Confucian master Cheng Ji-se’s “fallen leaves return to the roots”. “A novel should respond to characters and things. The characters are in the world, and the world is made up of things. Knowledge is also the experience gained after thinking. Once solidified, it actually exists as a thing.” In Alai’s view , The more important thing to “response things” is to think and respond through writing.
In response to some “unintelligible” voices, Li Er said: “Sometimes, the author and the reader have different expectations of a book. The writer is particularly worried about writing too smoothly, and is always willing to let a lot of stories happen on both sides of the main line of the story. . Because these stories can make readers feel interesting. Writers are actually very taboo to write normally. Novels are undoubtedly storytelling, but they are definitely not just storytelling.” Therefore, even if there are various comments, Even some very bad sounds, Li Er would not deliberately explain. “I didn’t explain, because I know that since I want to publish a work, then readers must be allowed to have different views.”
