Borgomanero, the best Christmas story and of the students of the “Buscaglia”

BORGOMANERO – Solidarity wins at the prize for the most beautiful Christmas story, organized by the Marazza Foundation and Interlinea. To win the first prize are five students of the fifth B of the Buscaglia di Novara: Alice Fallarini, Marta Ruzzarin, Agnes Gulfo, Rafif Boudrias e Wissal Mouslim. They wrote «A golden magic»: the story of Diana, a little girl who at Christmas accompanies her mother to distribute food and blankets to the homeless in the city and cheers up the party with the sound of the flute.

Second place for the third class of the primary of Pogno with “A sweet friendship at Christmas”: protagonist the skunk Wenceslaus. «The competition – underlined the president of the Marazza Foundation, Giovanni Tinivella – was attended by over 250 children from more than 50 classes from all over Italy. The hope is that they will all become passionate readers and attend libraries ».

Yesterday only a few schools participated in the presence, those closest to Borgomanero, but there were video links with children from Sasso Marconi, Lizzano in Belvedere, Triggiano (Bari) and Palma Campania (Naples). The competition for professional authors saw the success of Ferdinando Albertazzi who conceived “The Christmas present”, illustrated by Angelo Ruta, about the meeting between Papa Natale and the Befana who helps him arrange the last gifts to be sorted. Albertazzi’s story was published by Interlinea as well as the best Christmas stories written by children in another volume.

«These two volumes – the publisher Roberto Cicala recalled – will be given away in the pediatric wards of Italian hospitals. With your imagination you will be able to make the parties of many children who have to spend them in the ward more beautiful. In addition, the stories will also be published in e-books to facilitate their dissemination ». The director of Marazza, Giovanni Cerutti, and the city councilor for Culture, Francesco Valsesia also participated in the award ceremony: «With this initiative we have managed to bring together many children. Thanks to their imagination, and books have played an extraordinary role in this, children have suffered less from the effects of the pandemic. This would be enough to make us understand the exceptional importance that a book can have on growth ».
