Bridgerton, not just TV series. A prequel novel is coming

From novel to TV series to (again) novel.

It happens to “Bridgerton”, the hit series by Netflix and Shondaland, which in addition to a spin-off prequel that will expand the narrative universe, is preparing to have a relative novel. In fact, a book signed by the writer Julia Quinn and the producer Shonda Rhimes based on the television series dedicated to the young queen Charlotte, played by India Amarteifo, is being written for Avon Books, publisher of the original literary saga. The release date in the bookstore is not yet known, but it will coincide with the release of the highly anticipated spin-off on the platform.

At the heart of the series, the title of which is not yet known, is the story of how the marriage between the young queen and King George triggered, as well as a great love story, a huge social change, which gave birth to the world of characters in the mother series.

“Queen Charlotte is such a moving character to write,” Rhimes explained. “I find it exciting to be able to work with Julia to adapt this story into a novel. I can’t wait for fans to read the story of a character who has managed to have a profound resonance ”.

“Bridgerton’s transition from book to screen was fascinating, as was being able to watch him as a spectator – commented Quinn – Now the challenge is to bring him back to the other side, turning Shonda’s brilliant vision into a novel. I am particularly excited to write about Queen Charlotte, not featured in the original literary saga. Her character and her brilliant performance by Golda Rosheuvel have been a tour de force and readers will love having the chance to get to know her more deeply. “
